Weakest Link and Fear Factor have new homes.
Both shows, which previously aired on NBC, have been picked up to series by Fox. It comes ahead of the network’s upfronts presentation in New York.
They are joined by 99 To Beat, a U.S. remake of a Belgian format.
Weakest Link and 99 To Beat will air in the fall; the latter will air on Mondays at 9pm after Name That Tune, while gameshow 99 To Beat will air Wednesdays at 9pm after The Floor. Fear Factor has not been dated.
Weakest Link recently aired for three seasons on NBC starting in September 2020. It was hosted by Jane Lynch, who will host the show on Fox. The Fox version will be a celebrity edition with eight celebrities competing to win up to $1M for charity by answering questions and trying not to become the weakest link.

It is produced by BBC Studios LA Productions. Stuart Krasnow serves as showrunner with Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney as exec producers.
Fear Factor is returning as Fear Factor: The Next Chapter (w/t). The show that made Joe Rogan famous previously ran for six seasons on NBC, which brought it back briefly in 2011 before MTV had a crack at it with Ludacris as host.
Dropped into a remote location, a group of strangers will live together under one roof, and face stunts, challenges and a game of social strategy.
It comes from Endemol Shine North America. Exec producers include Kevin Lee, Sharon Levy, Michael Heyerman and Sean Loughlin.
Elsewhere, the network has picked up 99 to Beat, a format from Belgium that sees 100 contestants go head-to-head in a range of games. There’s only one rule: Don’t come last. In each episode contestants battle it out before the number of players is whittled down to one, who takes home a $100,000 prize. In the Belgian version of the show, which airs on VRT, challenges included boiling an egg or peeling potato.
99 to Beat will be hosted by Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews.
The series is distributed by Primitives, which has sold the format in the UK to ITV, which just launched its own remake, and it has been picked up in Germany, France and Italy.
99 to Beat is produced by Initial, with Natalka Znak, Claire O’Donohoe, Katy Manley and Lee Smithurst executive producing.
